Obituary for Mary Ann (Livingston) Beer
A very sad death occurred at the home of her daughter Mrs. Younker, Kingston PEI on November 10th, when Mrs. Mary Ann Beer, a most respected and one of the oldest residents of Bannockburn, PEI succumbed to a lingering illness of Neuraigla about her heart. Her husband, Mr. James Beer, predeceased her by a year. A woman of estimable Christian character loved as a mother by those of her community, with an ever overflowing heart of affection for all. She leaves to mourn their loss three daughters, Mrs. Hood and Mrs. Darrach of Clyde River and Mrs. Younker of Kingston and two sons, at home also a sister and her brother Mr. Boyd Livingston of Clyde River. A member of the Presbyterian Church of long standing and an earnest and zealous worker she will be keenly missed.
The funeral took place from her home Bannockburn on Wednesday November 12th, her pastor Rev. W.A. Wood preached and was assisted by Rev. Mr. Webster, a very large number assembled to pay their last tribute to a worthy friend. The remains were laid to rest in the Presbyterian Cemetery Clyde River. The saviour said, “Come to me and I will give thee rest.” The pallbearer were Mr. Hugh MacMillan , Mr. William Auld, Mr. Colville and Mr. H. Murchison.

In loving of Mrs James Beer who departed this life Nov 10th 1919
Oft my thoughts go wandering
To a grave not far away
Whwere lies the sweetest memory
That will never fade away
What is home without a mother
All things the world can give
For when we lost our mother
We lost our dearest Friend
Inserted by her daughter, Guardian 1920
