Born in Maitland, NS August 4 1889 he was the son of the late Andrew and Carrie (Ellis) Hltz. Formerly of Portsmouth he had lived in Raymond for the past 18 years. He was a retired welder at the Portsmouth Naval Shipyard. He was a 50 year member of Overseas Lodge, F&AM, and the Exeter Barracks of Veterans of WW1. Survived by his widow Mrs Velma Gilman Hiltz and nieces and nephews. 1976
George's marriage to Evelyn ended in divorce in 1933 because his wife gave him the silent treatment for days at a time.
