Ramsay, Angus

Birth Name Ramsay, Angus
Gender male

Notes

Note

The family history of the Ramsay family compiled by Thomas Ramsay in the 1920s said there was an Angus Ramsay in this family. There were 4 males in the household of the Widow Ramsay in the 1798 census of PEI, and he could be one of these men. His date of birth, if his parents married after their arrival on the Island in 1770, would be between 1770-1782.

Although there were two men named Angus Ramsay living in New Brunswick, born on the Island in 1811 and 1812, they would both be too young to fit in this family.

John Ramsay and Angus Ramsay were witnesses at the marriage of Flora Ramsay to Samuel McAusland in 1830.

An Angus Ramsay signed a lease with the Cambridge brothers for 70 acres of land in Lot 14, bounded by Dougal McArthur and Neil Ramsay, in 1834. This could have been one of the two Angus Ramsays who went to New Brunswick.
