Note
James was the son of John Ellis and Elizabeth Campbell.
There was a James Ellis (John's son) on the Patriotic fund of 1855 list, for the district around Port Hill. There was also the James Ellis (John's son) of Cascumpec village who died of consumption in 1867 at age 33, according to Port Hill C of E records.
