I don't think she is the widow Mary Hardy, born PEI, in Lot 4 in the 1881 census. That is probably the widow of James Hardy, Mary Ann Weeks.

There was a William Hardy in Lot 6 in 1861, with a man and a woman over 60. It was a household of 6, 4 singles and a married couple. They were all Presbyterian. William was a farmer, 50 years into his lease.
