Note

1854 - On the 12th inst., by the same, Mr. Theophilus Higgins, of Lot 17, to Caroline daughter of Mr. John McLean, Lot 14. The Islander – Apr 14, 1854

Caroline was not in the 1881 Census with Theophilis - there is a gravestone for her in Birch Hill Presbyterian Cemetery Lot 14 that no longer shows a date. The PEI Genealogical Society's Master Name Index and a newspaper both say that she died in 1872, at the age of 39.
