From the History of Freetown:

Herbert was the son of David Reeves, who was born in Freetown in 1828. David m. Margaret MacCallum Cole, called Peggy, 14 Feb. 1858.
She was b. in Bedeque ca. 1839. She d. 16 Mar. 1895 at 56 years of age. David d. 17 Oct. 1912 age 83. They are bur. in Freetown Methodist, now United Church Cem.
Herbert b. 2 May 1865. He m. Jane, dau. of William "Billy" and Rebecca (Pickering) MacArthur, of Victoria West, where Herbert moved in 1900. Jane was b. 5 Feb. 1864 and d. 25 June 1938. Herbert d. 10 Jan. 1942. They had five children:
1. Margaret m. Lloyd Leard, Alberton and moved to Victoria West.
2. Ada m. George Pye, Lot 16.
3. Oressa d. at age 16.
4. Russell lived in N.B. and then returned to P.E.I.
5. David m. Clara Milligan and lived in West Devon. He was a farmer and a blacksmith.
