Sarah Marian was the daughter of James and Cora Ramsay, brought up by her aunt, Ellen Ellis Ramsay Dyment, in California. Although she was not in the Massachusetts Birth Index, on the 1910 US census Cora said she had 5 children, all living, although only 4 of them were with her and her second husband.

Solemnized in the Oak Park Baptist churcn was one ofthe prettiest ceremonies of the season when Miss Sarah Marion Ramsay and Donald Sowles exchanged their marriage vow. The bride was attended by her cousin, Miss Marion McDougal, A wedding luncheon was served after the ceremony at the residence of the bride's aunt, Mrs. Ellen T. Dymond. with whom she has always made her home. The bride's table was beautifully appointed and was decorated with flowers in pastel shades. It was surrounded by others where covers were laid for the guests.

Sadie and Donald had three children by the time of the 1930 US census.
