Annie said on the 1891 census that both of her parents were born in Scotland.

In 1901 census: date of birth given as 1 November 1863 - she may have subtracted a few years from her age, being older than her husband.

No brother, sisters, or parents were named in her obituary.

MRS. DAVID SIMMONS The death of Annie, beloved wife of David Simmons, occurred at her home, Kensington, on May 5th at the age of 58. Mrs. Simmons was in failing health for some time but was able to attend to her household duties until a day or two before her death. Besides her sorrowing husband she leaves to mourn their loss, one son Frederick and many other relatives. The funeral service...was largely attended showing the esteem in which the deceased was held. Internment in Presbyterian Cemetery Clyde River. Guardian 1914
