Flora Ramsay gave her date of birth as 1813 on census records, but her death notice indicated that her date of birth was earlier, in 1806. The earlier date of birth would certainly make her marriage to Samuel McAusland in 1830 a bit more reasonable, but the birth of her last child a bit unreasonable - a date in the middle could be correct. It is possible that she chopped a few years off of her age in the 1881 and 1891 census records to be the same age as her second husband, John Barlow, but was proud of her age when she reached her late eighties.

Samuel McAusland of Lot 13 (B) and Flora Ramsay (S) of the same lot were married by license this 9th day of November 1830 by A. Wiggins in the Richmond Parish of the Church of England. Present were John and Angus Ramsay. The minister did not write that this was with the permission of the parents, which makes it more likely that Flora was considered old enough to be married.

In 1837, John Ramsay farmer of Lot 13 transferred land to his son-in-law Samuel McAusland of the same place.

Flora and John Barlow married after the deaths of their spouses, in 1858, when she was in her forties. They both had children from previous marriages, but didn't have any children of their own.

Another obit says she was survived by 6 sons.
