My Family Tree

I'm not directly related to this group of McLeans, but since I have McLeans living in the same county, with many of the same first names, in my tree, I want to be able to sort them out.

There are baptismal records for some of the children of Alex Mclean or McLain and Kitty Howet in the Richmond Parish of the Presbyterian Church:
Margaret, bap. 1824
Rodk William, bap. 1826
Eliza, bap. 1828
Peter Howett, bap. 1830
Alexander, bap 1832

Then there are baptismal records for Agnes, Malinda, Catherine, Jessie Caroline, Isaac, Annie Sarah and John - all children of Alexander McLean, born in Lot 16. Jessie Caroline's obituary noted that she was the last surviving member of a family of 12 children of Alex McLean and Kitty Howatt.

A legal notice associated with the estate of Annie Sarah McLean Taunton provides confirmation of some of these relationships. Her obituary in a 1925 Cambridge newspaper said she had one brother in Cambridge, Isaac.
Since she died without children, the executors of the estate attempted to find all of her surviving brothers and sisters, and their children. Listed in the legal notice were:
- descendants of Margaret and John McFadyen, in Nebraska and other western states and provinces
- descendants of Roderick and Rachel McLean
- descendants of Malinda and Paul McPhail
-descendants of Catherine and Allan McLean
-Jessie Caroline Strang and her children
- Isaac's children
-descendants of Agnes and Samuel McFadden
