The Islander – Apr 15, 1853
Died. At the residence of Isaac Howatt, St. Eleanor’s, on the 11th ultimo, Ann McDougald, the beloved wife of Mr. John McDouglad, Lot 16, age 77. The deceased came on a visit to her daughter about three weeks before her death. Her end was peace.

Two verified daughters of Jane and Isaac were Ann, and Elizabeth, other possible children were Margaret (1834-13 May 1914) and Jacob. (1837-15 aug 1915), who were living in Summerside or St. Eleanors at the time of their marriages. G. Coughlin suggested two boys, James, born 1843 [James Nelson] and Pope, born 1858 but these two belong to the family of Cornelius and Jane (Bell) Howatt; Cornelius Howatt died at the home of his son Nelson.

Married. At Holland Grove, Bedeque, on the 21st ult., by Augustus E.C. Holland, Esq., J.P., Mr. Nelson Howatt, of Lot 17, son of Cornelius Howatt, Esq., M.P.P., to Catharine, daughter of Mr. William Platts of Augustine Cove.

There was no household under the name of Ann's husband James Robertson in the 1861 census - perhaps she was a widow living with her parents in 1861.

d. Summerside, P.E.I., 9th inst., Mrs. Isaac HOWATT, 76th year, left husband, children and grandchildren. She and her husband were among the first Baptist at Summerside.
